Description:
Metal fragments x 5, from the base of a bully beef tin. Circular impression evident. Fragment 1: small flat fragment. 6.2 x 3.2 x 0.4cm. Fragment 2: Circular impression and edge of can. 3.9 x 2.5 x 0.9cm. Fragment 3: Small traces of red enamel paint on curved fragment, 2.1 x 1.9cm. Fragment 4: Flat small piece, 1.6 x 1.5cm. Fragment 5: Small flat piece, 1.7 x 1.3cm. Part of a large scatter of artefacts in an open, eroded area with low vegetation asssociated with trench F459 at the southern end of Pope's Hill. Documented via an intensive survey method.
