Description:
Metal fragments x 6 with ferrous oxidation. Irregular shaped and fragile. Fragment 1: irregular shape, 2.0 x 1.8cm. Fragment 2: irregular, 3.2 x 1.9cm. Fragment 3: roughly oval shaped with sharp edges, 1.8 x 1.2cm. Fragment 4: tear-drop shaped, 1.8 x 3.0cm. Fragment 5: irregular, 1.5 x 1.2cm. Fragment 6: Irregular shaped right angle bend at longer side, 1.9 x 1.7cm. Part of a large scatter of artefacts in an open, eroded area with low vegetation asssociated with trench F459 at the southern end of Pope's Hill. Documented via an intensive survey method.
