Description:
Metal fragments x 15. Some may be from a food can, two pieces are thicker than the rest. Fragment 1: 3.6 x.1.9cm. Fragment 2: curved, 3.3 x 2 Fragment 3: 2.5 x 1.4cm. Fragment 4: 1.4 x 0.8cm. Fragment 5: metal is folded back on itself, 1.7 x 0.7cm. Fragment 6: 2.3 x 1.3 Fragment 7: 1.3 x 1.1 Fragment 8: 1.3 x 1.0cm. Fragment 9: 1.2 x 1.0cm. Fragment 10: 1.3 x 0.8 Fragment 11: 1.8 x 1.3cm. Fragment 12: - heavy, thick, possibly shrapnel, 2.1 x 1.1cm x 0.9cm thick. Fragment 13: slightly curved, 1.9 x 0.7 Fragment 14: tirangular shape, 1.6 x 1.5cm. Fragment 15: 1.7 x 0.6cm. Part of a large scatter of artefacts in an open, eroded area with low vegetation asssociated with trench F459 at the southern end of Pope's Hill. Documented via an intensive survey method.
