Description:
Long metal rim made of wire with folded sheet metal, and a second smaller fragment. Dimensions: longer segment is 34.0cm long and curved; 0.4cm thick. Found in an area has many dugouts and many other artefacts (F979), alongside a large trench (Maori Pah gully or trench F981) leading up to the No.1 Outpost front line on the ridge above. Appears to have been an ANZAC back-of-line living area, possibly for the NZ Maori unit.
