Description:
The Big Sap trench. A large, wide linear depression with sloping, high sides. Surrounded by thick holly/oak trees. The base of the trench has a flat, even floor in the best preserved section. There is grass and leaf litter covering the floor. It runs fairly straight. Located at the base of No. 2 Outpost (western side) on the flatter plain near the beach. it runs NNW-SSE. There is a large, wide embankment on the western side.
