Description:
Trench. Eroded and shallow at the junction from trench F1027. Runs NW to SE, curving around. Junction with trench F1019 and then trench continues as F1028. Cross trench joining E-W running trenches F1017 and F1019. Scrubby, low vegetation in places and eroded here. Vegetation is thicker (rhododendron and holly) in other places with grass and leaf litter over the floor of the trench. It is better defined in the areas with thick vegetation. Flattish floor with steep sides. No artefacts - this area must have been well picked over by relic hunters. Some parts are more shallow, wide and eroded. There are some large field stones in the trench. Another T-junction and we kept recroding the right (western) fork as F1028 - left (south) fork is trench F1029. Curves around heading downhill. ends in a modern walking track, but appears to continue on the other side of the track.
