Description:
A thin metal rod with a circular cross-section (0.9cm diameter) and bolts at either end. Ferrous oxidation. One bolt is hexagonal in shape (c. 1.7 x 1.7cm) at one end, and the bolt at the other end is square in shape (1.9 x 1.9cm). The shaft is slightly bowed, and is corroded and pitted. Part of artefact cache (F871) - all metal artefacts. Located under a bush on southern side of the New Zealand track amongst thick vegetation.
