Description:
Bully beef tin. Located half buried in trench (F761). Rectangular base visible and section of container walls. base almost completely intact while in situ. Ferrous oxidation. NB. A second container appeared to be buried behind the bully beef tin. However, it was not possible to retrieve the second container. Four fragments measured. Measurements - Fragment 1 (wall of can): Length 1; Width 1; Depth 1 (lip); Fragment 2 (wall of can): Length 2; Width 2; Fragment 3 (wall of can): l. 4.4; w. 3.5; Fragment 4 (top or base of can): l. 8; w. 4.8; d. 0.3 (lip).
